New Club Chairman Richard Larkins
As Pen-y-ffordd Tennis Club is an LTA Registered Place to Play we receive an allocation of show court tickets each year in proportion to the number of our members who linked their free British Tennis Membership to our club and opted it in for Wimbledon tickets before the February deadline. These tickets are available for members to buy. Where there is competition for the available tickets the club will hold its own internal draw (set for 8pm on Thursday 11 May).

2016-17 members who have renewed for 2017-18 may request to buy tickets as long as they opted into the Wimbledon ballot before the deadline. New members for 2017-18 may also request to buy tickets - they must have a British Tennis Membership (BTM) (our Club Secretary is endeavouring to create a BTM for each new member, details will be received by email), and they must arrange for their BTM to be opted in for Wimbledon tickets - this must be done at least 24 hours before the allocation takes place by phoning 020 8487 7000.

Anyone who has spent time at the AELTC during Wimbledon Fortnight will tell you what a superb experience it is, and access to these tickets is a worthwhile benefit of being a member of
Pen-y-ffordd Tennis Club!
If you would like to express an interest in one or more of the pairs of tickets listed here, please get in touch before midnight on 30th April 2017. You may specify a first choice and, optionally, a second choice. Note that second choices will only be considered for tickets that have not been nominated by anyone as their first choice.
Members' Wimbledon tickets 2017
Ticket draw
The Wimbledon ticket draw took place at 8pm on Thursday 11 May in the clubhouse. The names were drawn out by junior member Stephanie Hughes in front of an assembled group of observers that included club members Pauline Hughes, Sharron Bakewell, Adam Bakewell, Karen Glendenning, Kate Hughes and Nige Edwards. The results are shown below.

However, no one requested two of the ticket pairs prior to the draw, as either their first or second choice (those for Day 6 and Day 13). Members were therefore given the chance to request either or both of these ticket pairs by midnight Sunday 14 May.
Jane and Angus Smellie were the only ones to request Day 6 as their first choice, and as they're going together there's no need for a draw.

Four members requested Day 13 (see below), which was decided via a second draw that was, in a club first, broadcast live on the club Facebook page, a recording of which can be watched below. The draw was filmed and narrated by Nige, the club's chairman, with the winner being drawn by Tom, the club's Junior Rep. To see the club's Facebook page go to https://www.facebook.com/penyfforddtennis/ .

All tickets will be electronically allocated to winning members before the LTA's 19 May deadline.
Here's a recording of the mop-up draw that was broadcast live on Facebook . . .
Apologies for the sideways view in the early few seconds of the recording - we now know that if the camera is held portrait when the live feed commences then it's stuck like that!
