Deeside Round Table arranges for Santa to help club!
Deeside Round Table very kindly invited members of Pen-y-ffordd Tennis Club to join them as they took Santa through the streets of Ewloe on Monday 8th December. The Round Table aims to assist a variety of local causes and this year, in addition to the work they do for charities, they are also looking to give a boost to local clubs and organisations in need of extra funds.
Eight members of Pen-y-ffordd Tennis Club joined Round Table volunteers on a rather cold evening to accompany Father Christmas as he brought the streets alive with music and lights, and put a smile on children's faces. The event allowed Deeside Round Table to boost the funds of Pen-y-ffordd Tennis Club by £250, which will go towards the amount required to release £12,500 of funding promised by a local trust fund to provide new court surfaces at the tennis club and so ensure its continued survival.
Pen-y-ffordd Tennis Club would like to say a very big "Thank you" to Deeside Round Table for this opportunity and wish them a very merry Christmas!
Club members Elaine Shickell, Steffan Shickell, Dave Hughes, Josh & Georgia, Mike Herd, Simon Briscoe, Dave Dalrymple, Tomos Edwards and Nige Edwards joined Santa and Round Table volunteers
