New Club Coach Appointed
Pen-y-ffordd Tennis Club has appointed a new Club Coach in the shape of 22 year old Michael Herd. The Club Coach facility became vacant after previous Club Coach Sarah Douglas decided on a career change with plans to return to college.

Mike, who currently lives in Pantymwyn near Mold, grew up in the north Wales area and went to Mold Alun secondary school. He studied a BSc in Sports Sciences at Bangor University and is currently qualified as a tennis coach to UKCC Level 2, with Level 3 due to be completed in April 2013. He's been playing tennis for 13 years, played for north Wales U18s, and competed against some of the best players in the UK when representing Bangor University. He has coached all ages and abilities with experience dating back as far as 2010 and, besides the work he'll be doing in Pen-y-ffordd, he also works at the North Wales Tennis Centre in Wrexham and at Howells School in Denbigh.

Mike is available for private coaching at the club's facilities to both members and non-members (members pay a reduced price) and can be contacted via this website.
