FACILITIES
Pen-y-ffordd Tennis Club has three outdoor all-weather tennis courts that were completely resurfaced in 2016 and are available for use free of charge by its members. Court numbers 1 and 2 are floodlit with a small charge payable when playing under the lights. Suitable for year-round use (the nets remain in place right through the winter), the courts are surfaced with quick-drying porous macadam and surrounded by well-maintained tennis court fencing to keep the balls within the boundaries of the club (most of the time!)
There is also a modest clubhouse, which has a table tennis table and also provides essentials (toilet, hand-wash basin, storage space, small kitchen area). Adult members may request access to the clubhouse. There's also free parking on-site.
The courts are accessible only by members and pay-and-play users as the the main gate must be opened by entering a code into the electronic keypad. This number is issued when a court is booked and is operational during the booking and 10 minutes beforehand.
